German scientists developed warm light LED by using emitting materials

Recently, the German scientists have developed a way to let the original cold blue LED emits warm color. This method can revolutionize LED efficient, and this team has gained scientific Award nomination by this discovery.

 

In recent years, because of high luminous efficiency and environmental friendly, LED is gradually recognized by public, but the blue LED obstructs its further expansion. Now, this German team of scientists uses a luminescent material to add a warm tone for the LED, making it more suitable for home use.

 

This luminescent material is a silicon nitrogen compound that developed in Philips Laboratories. One inventor Peter Schmidt said: “This luminescent material can be produced as thin layer, and directly attached to a on the semiconductor, part of the blue LED light will pass through this thin layer, while the other part of light will be converted to green and red by the effect of this luminescent material.
