Blue LED chip-- no harmful to the eyes



Japanese manufacturers Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) has developed a LED chip that can reduce 95% blue light for PC and smart phones use. Blue-ray is considered may cause eye fatigue or sleep disturbances, therefore the eyewear can protect from blue light was welcomed. Showa Denko plans to produce new type of LED chip in 2014, and to open up the LCD display and LED lighting market.


SDK combined purple-red, yellow, and dark green LED chips together, and finally obtain a blue LED light source that nearly the same effect as blue LED chip. Previous purple-red LED brightness can not be used as lighting source, but SDK improves its brightness through unique technology.


Because they do not use a blue LED chip, thereby it can reduce blue light more than 95%. Allegedly, the price is high as 2 to 3 times of the blue LED chip, but when used for lighting and LCD display products, it is expected only increase 20% to 30% of the product total cost.
